The Fandango

The Fandango is performed to the "Fandango" from Luigi Boccherini's "Guitar Quintet in D Major," scored for string quartet, classical spanish guitar, and castanets.

Premiere: June 17, 2016
Brookfield Place
River to River Festival,  New York, NY

"As the dancers strutted like flamingos and twitched their shoulders to the resounding percussion, their costumes — black collared shirts tucked into spandex briefs — captured something essential about them and about Mr. Heginbotham in general, at once vulnerable and buttoned-up." - The New York Times

The Fandango was co-commissioned by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Arts Brookfield and developed as part of LMCC's Extended Life Dance Development program made possible in part by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and was presented as part of the River To River Festival 2016. LMCC.net
